The Long title says it all; The woman who made a pact with the devil. And that is ladies and gentlemen: Revenge.
At the time I started watching Guilty, I was in need for a dose of deep mystery and darkness, which only the opening theme of this drama, and the scenes of the black crows has fulfilled it. So, after the few 1st episodes, the genre seemed to change a bit into action and crime, with an awkward attempt of romance.
The unfolding of the events was pretty new to me, and it was interesting... I actually liked the whole series, but it did not give me the dose of darkness I thought it had. My main reason to watch this drama was for it's 2 main lead actors:
|
Kanno Miho as Nogami |
Nogami Meiko who was convicted for killing her sister's husband and son after feeding them with chocolate cakes. This incident drives Meiko's sister to suicide, and her mother to lose her mind. After her release from Jail, Meiko starts her revenge spree, and forces those who framed her with the murder to kill themselves. The reasons of framing Meiko remains a mystery the whole serious, and once it was revealed I felt this uneasy heaviness, and deeply sympathized with Meiko.
In this drama, Kanno proves that she is an actress who deserves a big round of applause for her acting capabilities. She played Nogami's role in a way that will make you torn apart between hating Nogami for her crimes, and sympathizing with her.

Tamaki Hiroshi as Mashima |
Mashima Takuro is a detective who is drowned in rage for the death of his young partner by a psychopath. Mashima will do anything for the sake of capturing that psychopath and avenge his dead partner, which I think that is what made him understand how Nogami feels for the death of her sister.
I was slightly disappointed with Tamaki's acting in this drama and I still did not figure out the reason of this disappointment, but I thanked god that there was this weirdo-magazine reporter that kept the action going and eventually made me forget about my disappointment in Tamaki.

Dojima the Weirdo-reporter |
Because I am a such a bad drama follower I don't know the real name of the actor who did Dojima, but he did a great job in stirring the events. I thought Dojima will be one of those characters that appears in the beginning then disappear like nothing happened, but I was shocked of how important his role was in the story. After Dojima's death, he became my favorite character in this drama!
I won't mention the rest of the characters, although they were as important as Dojima, because I have mentioned so many spoilers...
This drama deserves a watch, but don't expect that much of mystery and darkness.
